QUINCY MALL INVESTS IN INTERIOR, EXTERIOR LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS
(Peoria, IL – May 31, 2018) – Quincy Mall will shine a little brighter with the addition of all new LED lighting to the interior and exterior of the mall. Several environmentally friendly changes are being made as part of owner Cullinan Properties, Ltd.’s continued investment of $4 million to be put directly into the mall for enhancements and upgrades.
In conjunction with Slumberland, Quincy Mall is removing the existing parking lot light fixtures and replacing them with new, brighter LED lights. Sixteen fixtures are being added to make the parking lot brighter and more secure for patrons, with more than 100 LED lights being replaced or added. Interior lighting improvements are also being made, with new LED lights replacing over 500 existing interior lighting fixtures. Additionally, common area HVAC units are being replaced and the remaining HVACs will be tuned for better, more efficient performance.
These upgrades will not only make the mall brighter and more appealing, they will also allow Quincy Mall to boast a more eco-friendly footprint. The new fixtures and HVAC units are estimated to result in an annual energy savings of 423,333 kWh/yr. This is the equivalent to 315 metric tons of carbon dioxide emission, or the yearly electricity consumption of 47 households, or removing 68 cars from the road each year.

We are proud of Quincy Mall and are glad the City takes pride in the mall as well.”
These new additions are expected to cost $375,000. Work has already begun and should be completed by mid-July.
Quincy Mall recently completed a number of improvements, including skylight enhancements and flooring upgrades to the community room, hallways and bathrooms. Other upgrades made in 2017 included a new outdoor pylon sign and enhancements to the interior décor.
The energy efficiency upgrades are coming on the heels of the grand opening for Que-Town Bar-B-Que at Quincy Mall. Substantial improvements were made to the Que-Town space, including new flooring, fixtures, and kitchen equipment as well as new paint and signage on the exterior of their space. Que-Town owner, Dave French, is thrilled with the high traffic his business has received since opening his doors in early May. Just returning from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cullinan Properties continues to seek retail, restaurants and other businesses at Quincy Mall and is actively pursuing area small businesses and entrepreneurs through its unique Cullinan Kickstart small business attraction program.
