QUINCY MALL WELCOMES QUE TOWN BBQ, SECOND CULLINAN KICKSTART TENANT

 

(Peoria, IL – February 13, 2018) – Cullinan Properties, Ltd. is pleased to announce that Que Town BBQ plans to open this spring as the newest addition to Quincy Mall’s lineup of dining options. A locally sourced barbeque restaurant, Que Town BBQ will be the second business to open at Quincy Mall through the Cullinan Kickstart program, and will be located in the 5,300 square foot space between Kay Jewelers and The Children’s Place.

Que Town BBQ will feature fresh barbeque in a community driven, family friendly environment. Menu items will include smoked pork, beef, and chicken wings, accompanied by sauces made from scratch. The restaurant will focus on quality, obtaining meats and vegetables from local farms and using state-of-the-art smokers.

David French, owner of this family business, has spent much of his life in and around the restaurant industry. He has worked in several Quincy area restaurants, including Kelly’s Tavern on Broadway St., to which he attributes his initial desire to own a restaurant. “I want the restaurant to maintain a small town vibe, which is why I named it ‘Que Town.’ Our food will be mostly locally sourced and the restaurant’s artwork will be created by people in town. It’s really about the community,” stated French.

The Cullinan Kickstart program was created in June 2017 to help local entrepreneurs and small businesses overcome many of the start-up challenges involved in opening a new business. The program offers a variety of lease and financing options specifically tailored to the needs of each qualifying business locating at Quincy Mall.

Sidell’s Bakery & Diner, the first small business to open through the Cullinan Kickstart program, has experienced a strong start and monthly increases in sales since opening in September. Sidell’s serves lunch and dinner, as well as offering homemade bakery treats throughout the day.
